What Is No-Fault Divorce?
A no-fault divorce is one in which neither party is directly responsible for the end of the marriage. Sometimes it’s nobody’s fault that a divorce is necessary; two people may just be incompatible. Because of the more liberal divorce laws in place today, no-fault divorces can be quicker and easier to obtain, because they can forgo some of the courtroom dramatics that go along with proving fault. Many couples find no-fault divorces preferable and less emotionally taxing than the alternative.
